Cheesy Ground Beef and Potato Casserole

When it comes to easy comfort food you can't beat a casserole. This cheesy ground beef and potato casserole checks off all the boxes for a delicious, easy dinner recipe that will please the whole family. It is pure comfort food and this one-dish meal does not disappoint.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 16 oz frozen sliced potatoes diced potatoes or hash browns will work as well
  • 1/2 cup butter unsalted, melted
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded gouda cheese
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley

Instructions
 

  • Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Brown the ground beef (I added some salt, black pepper and garlic powder above and beyond the quantities shown in the ingredients for the browning of the meat - this is optional).
  • Drain the ground beef.
  • Add everything except the parsley, cheese and the potatoes to the ground beef.
  • Stir until fully combined.
  • In a 9x13 casserole dish, add half of the meat mixture to the botoom of the pan.
  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes on top of the ground beef.
  • Layer half of the shredded cheese on top of the potatoes.
  • Repeat the last three steps with the remaining ingredients for another layer of ground beef, potatoes and cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove foil and continue to bake uncovered for an additional 20 minutes.
  • Serve!
