What you need to make this easy slow cooker street tacos recipe
The most critical part of this recipe is the beef. I used skirt steak, but you could also use flank steak, a chuck roast, or any other cut of beef that will be fall apart tender in the crock pot. The cut you choose really depends on the texture you like. If you prefer your tacos with longer shredded meat, you will want to stick with chuck, flank, or skirt steak. If you prefer chunks or smaller pieces, sirloin steak would be a great choice.
Next, you need a couple of jars of salsa verde and a slow cooker, and you have everything you need to make these amazing slow cooker street tacos.
Well, except for the tortillas.
You can use corn tortillas or the special smaller flour tortillas for a more authentic sized street taco. In theory, you usually see street tacos with cilantro and white or red onions only. Very rarely do you see them topped with sour cream, but these are your street tacos, enjoy them however you want with your favorite toppings. I recommend cotija cheese and a bit of fresh cilantro for the best authentic Mexican flavor.
